I started and finished reading this book in one sitting as it really caught my attention. I enjoyed the setting, this is the first book I've read set in the horse racing world. This makes a very unique book in my opinion. Tessa is a wonderfully strong female, determined to make it as a jockey. I love that it is the woman's career that causes problems, usually it is the man's, again a unique feature! Jace has loved Tessa since he first held her as a baby, alongside his best friend and Tessa's brother, he vowed to be her protector. He comforts her in times of sadness, and laughs with her and at her but can they became more than friends and occasional lovers? I really enjoyed the other characters, they added depth. Overall a really enjoyable read and with 4 stars is certainly worth one clicking!!

CM Foss is a hopeless romantic with a love for the written word. When she was little, her mom would ration her books so she wouldn’t go through them too quickly. It didn’t matter, she would just re-read. She’s always been an avid equestrian, competing in the top levels of Three Day Eventing by age seventeen. Never mind a Flame, this book is smoking hot and freaking amazing!! Erin Noelle has done it again, she has managed to outdo herself, I never think her books can get any better and then they do!!! Oh you are all going to fall in love with James Levi!! He is the epitome of a player and a bad boy, until Dakota comes into his life and he switches to a protective and attentive bf. I want to be Dakota, not only because of Levi but because she is such a strong female, who knows her own mind and isn't afraid to speak up!! The passion in this book is off the charts  but along with this is humour, especially when the gang are ghost hunting!! Erin you are one amazing author, this book has it all and a whole lot more I happily award 5 smoking hot stars ~ Rosie

EXCERPT

El Pinto Mexican food restaurant is the fucking bomb. A combination of gorgeous, sprawling hacienda-style ambiance, delicious authentic New Mexico cuisine, mouth-watering pitchers of house fresh margaritas, and a fun-loving, exuberant group of people sitting with me around a patio table. My cheeks hurt from the permanent smile that’s been stamped across my face since the moment we stepped under the vine-covered arch and through the glass double doors. After several big O’s on the trek down here, and then this phenomenal meal, I’d have to say my impromptu summer road trip has started out a tremendous success.

“So you seriously know nothing about motocross or dirt bikes? You’ve never seen anything on TV like X-Games? Red Bull X-Fighters? Metal Mulisha? You don’t have any brothers into this stuff?” Gunner gawks at me in utter disbelief while the four of us finish our last drinks at the restaurant before heading back to Sandia Motocross Park, where the bus is parked.

Tapping my chin, I pretend to think for a moment then shake my head. “I mean I’m familiar with what the X-Games are. I do live in Colorado, the winter action sports mecca, but I don’t know anything specifically about motocross other than you ride a motorcycle on a dirt track stupidly fast and do crazy-ass stunts while flying through the air.”

Emilia bursts out laughing at my oversimplified explanation of what her husband and Levi do for a living, but the two guys are still in shock at my revelation. It’s like they’ve never met anyone else who isn’t up to date on all their lingo and shit. I should’ve never asked why people made that braaappp noise at the wedding…

“Oh, and I do have one brother,” I add, “but he’s eight and likes to snowboard in the winter and fish in the summer. If any of my sisters were into dirt bikes, it’d be Juno. She’s the athletic one—but softball and volleyball are more her thing.”

Another peculiar look from Gunner. “How many sisters do you have?”

“Five. There are seven of us total. All from the same parents, who yes, are still married.” I answer the questions I know are coming before he even asks. Everyone is always intrigued by the size of my family, especially in this day and age. “My family is a little…unconventional.”

“A little?” Emilia scoffs. “You call your parents by their first names, and you grew up on a weed farm! You’ve got the coolest fucking family ever. Plus, you all look like Barbie dolls! When I used to dream about running away from home, I either wanted to be a trapeze artist in the circus or a Shavell sister.”

Snickering, I wrap my lips around my straw and suck in the chilled, tangy strawberry margarita. “Either way, you would’ve been joining a circus. There’s never a dull moment in a house with ten people in it.”

“Sunshine,” Levi leans over to me, resting his hand on the inside of my thigh, right below the frayed hem of my shorts, “I promise I want to learn all about your family. They sound cool as fuck—especially the part about the weed farm—but can we get back to where you said motocross is driving fast and doing stupid, crazy-ass stunts while flying through the air? ’Cause if you’re gonna be my girl on this trip, we need to give you a crash course tonight in all things motocross, so you can truly appreciate my awesomeness when you see me in action.”

I blink hard. His girl? Did he already dip his grubby hand into Grams’ special cookies?

“Hulk,” I lift my hand up to cradle his chin, bringing my face close to his, “I’ve already appreciated your awesomeness in action earlier today, and it had nothing to do with dirt bikes. So unless you want to show me how you can eat dessert on one, I’ll pass on the crash course and embrace my lingo ignorance.”

His eyes grow wide at my suggestion, and suddenly, the space between my mouth and his is gone, obliterated by a searing, possessive kiss. My lips part on a quick inhale of surprise, and he takes full advantage of my momentary vulnerability, sliding his tongue into my mouth to tangle with mine.

Everyone and everything around us fades away while his hypnotic lips move over mine. Kacie came around the corner and my mouth started salivating. She had on a white, lacy tank top and khaki shorts that showed off more of her legs than I had seen before. Her hair was pulled up in a messy bun with a few random pieces falling onto her collarbone. The closer she got, the more her green eyes sparkled. She looked simple, yet incredibly sexy. I was going to need a fucking straight jacket to keep my hands off of her all night

Review
Really enjoyed the beginning of Kacie and Brody's romance in this book. He was sensitive, but still an alpha male. Loved Sophia and the Twinkies too. I award this book 5 stars!

“Why not? Do you ever want to be a stay-at-home mom?” Brody asked. 

“I don’t know. After him, I swore to myself that I would never depend on a man again. It was embarrassing to move back home and rely on my mom to feed and take care of us.”

spun to face him, nearly dropping the eggs that were in my hand. “What?” 

“Down the road, when there are dozens of little Brodys running around the house, do you want to be home with us?” 

“Dozens of little Brodys?” I chuckled. 

“Why not?” He grinned. 

“Uh, I can think of a few reasons. My poor uterus for one.” I poked him in the chest.

“Okay, fine. Not a dozen, but at least like… six.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “After that, we can just practice—a lot.” 

“I’m definitely down for the practicing.” I batted my eyes at him. “And what do you mean at home with us? You’ll be traveling most of the time.” 

“Yeah, but not forever. Eventually I’ll retire and do the full-time dad thing.” 

Crossing my arms over my chest, I cocked my head to the side and looked at him skeptically. “Since when does staying home with kids all day interest you?” 

He looked over at the girls, who were watching a movie in the living room, and shrugged. “Since them.”


Review

I loved continuing the Brodie and Kacie story in this book. Who wouldn't love a man with the heart of Brodie and who wouldn't love to be a strong and independent woman like Kacie. This book pulled at my heartstrings in places and made me laugh at the antics of the 'twinkies'. Would recommend this series and hope that maybe we get more books about some of the other characters. Happily award this book 5 stars!!

“Oh, I know and it’s okay. I couldn’t care less what the public or whoever thinks of our wedding. It’s for us, you and me, and that’s all that matters.” 

“I’m glad you feel that way.” He bent his leg under him and turned to face me. “I had a thought while I was driving home.” 

I rolled my eyes. “I’m not eloping.”

“No, no. I know that. But you’re right… about not letting them have our wedding, the paparazzi and leeches who thought it was okay to post a picture of the girls in the newspaper. I don’t want them having any part in our day, so I was thinking, what if we had the ceremony and the reception in my parents’ barn?” 

My mouth fell open as he held his hand up. “Don’t freak. Just hear me out. I know it’s a crappy rundown barn, but I was thinking how cool it might look if we hung thousands of little white lights or even candles everywhere, though we don’t want to burn it down, but you get what I’m saying,” he rambled, barely taking a breath. “I can hire a company to come in and clean it up. We’ll rent some tables and chairs and whatever other crap you need for a wedding. Anything you want, Kacie. The sky’s the limit. I just want you to be—” 

I put my hand over his mouth to stop the adorable, incoherent sentences that were tumbling out of his mouth. 

When he stopped talking against my hand, I lowered it and scooted forward, cupping his face in my hands. I looked him straight in the eye. “Brody, I think that’s the best idea I have ever heard.”
