Synopsis
She's mine.

That was the first thought that came to my mind when I held my baby in my arms at seventeen. I didn't care that my parents had already promised to give her to a wealthy family. That they were forcing me to give her away.

She was mine.

I ran away from that hospital, from that family, from the only life I knew. I planned to start over with what little money I had, determined to make something of myself despite the odds.

Then Logan Tate came along.

Gorgeous and controlling, he claimed he was trying to help me, and he didn't care that I was just another teenage pregnancy story.

But I don’t trust him. I don't trust anyone. And if Logan knew the real secrets and lies I was keeping inside, he wouldn't dare try to shelter me.

Review:
I really wasn’t sure what to expect with “Shelter You” by Alice Montalvo-Tribue, but I have to say that I really liked, not just the book, but the characters as well.  I know that may seem silly to say, because most of the time, if you enjoy a book, you just naturally find the characters likable as well…but, that’s not always the case.  I’ve had it happen where I’ve loved a particular storyline or plot of a book, but just couldn’t stand one or more or even all of the characters in that storyline…but, I’m losing focus here; “Shelter You”, loved the book, loved the characters…
We start out with teenage mother Mia in a very desperate situation, having just giving birth to her baby daughter, Lily; she’s being forced by her parent’s to give her up for adoption.  With the help of a kind nurse, Mia is able to flee the hospital with Lily with plans to evade her parents long enough to reach her 18th birthday, which is only a few weeks away, and will allow Mia to be legally recognized as an adult and keep Lily without fear of her parents trying to force the adoption.
I was so amazed and in awe of Mia’s courage and strength at such a young age in her determination to be a good Mom to Lily.  The forethought Mia put into the choices she made really showed a maturity beyond her years.  And even though Lily definitely could have made a good life for Lily, all on her own, I just melted at the modern day “Prince Charming-esque” of Logan.  He was just so perfect for Mia and Lily and yeah, I know that I’ve gone on and on about loving the dark and gritty romances…and I wish I could tell ya why this one got me, cause it really didn’t have all of the stuff… but it got me.  I think it was the big ole tough cop with the little baby Lily and the “aww moment” of it.  Yeah, I’m a sucker for that too.  But, I love that Mia wasn’t the brainless woman making stupid decisions and waiting for everyone else to clean up her mess and Logan wasn’t the arrogant ass blindsided by a piece of tail and trying to make everything all better.  Mia and Logan weren’t anything like that… Mia was strong and caring and so much more and just wise beyond her years and Logan was the caring guy that became a cop to make the world a better place and while doing that, fell in love with a lovely young woman and her beautiful baby and I just fell in love with all of the them.
