Review of Finding Me 1, 2 &3 by Danielle Taylor

Part #1

Finding Me (Finding Me #1)
Abandoned by her birth parents, Lacy Harrison grew up struggling to figure out where she belongs. A few days after her nineteenth birthday she packs a bag, straps her guitar to her back, and leaves rural Texas for the country of her birth.

Short but sweet read. This first book is fast paced, you have to jump right in.   Lacy is that timid shy girl that you think needs protection.  Dex is the typical emo bad boy who you know has underlying issues.  It's a chance encounter on a park bench and a quick song.  The natural pull between musicians leads to coffee, a flat, and limits being pushed.

Part #2
Finding Me (Finding Me #2) If you have ever found yourself in another country in a sexy strangers flat then you will know exactly how Lacy feels the morning after.  You start to really find depth in the characters in this book.  You start to wonder if Lacy made the right choice.  Dex does not disappoint and becomes the heroin that we all love.  Planes, Trains, and Automobiles has nothing on this trip that Lacy and Dex have embarqued on.

Finding Me (Finding Me #3)The third book really got me.  I have to officially say that I can not wait to read the 4th book.  You cry for Lacy when she gets on the bus to head to her promised job in Scotland for 30 day.  You cringe and almost laugh the morning after she arrives at the discussion her and her new boss have.  By far this is my favorite book so far.  All in all the three books are a fairly short read and was entertaining.

REVIEW

Heaven Sent was definitely 4.5 stars of heavenly words. Taron is sexy and of course a rock star and Ivy is the girl that stole his heart. I love the joking cocky interaction between them it reminds me sooo much of my boyfriend and me... I don't know how many times I laughed out loud and was like that was a good one. Then there was times were I could feel there pain and yes I even cried..Heaven sent through a curveball and I loved every minute of it! This book fit together as perfect as Ivy and Taron fit together. I love the authors writing style and definitely want more would love a book about Lilly or Holden he is a mystery and sexy as he'll with his authorative tone he uses. Don't miss out on this read you definitely want to meet Taron he stole my heart with his love and cockiness..

Review
I really enjoyed this book once I got into it. At first it was a little hard to get my mindset out of today’s technology obsessed world and try to imagine the way of life in the 1940s, but once I got there, I couldn’t put it down. Sarah and Will have spent their entire lives together as friends and neighbors in Colorado. As young adults, their feelings have changed from friends to a deep love for each other. Fate steps in and changes the course of their lives….multiple times. Jacelyn does a wonderful job of describing the scenery and feelings felt by Will and Sarah. I love the alternating POVs and she even throws in POVs of other characters (FYI, I do NOT like Margaret! You’ll understand. ;) LOL). I can’t wait for Shattered by Fate, book 2 in this 3 part series. I give Surrender to Fate 4.5 stars and definitely recommend this to your TBR list. It’s a great change of pace. ~Kendra

Synopsis
Some say fate holds the cards. But what if love deals the hand? No love goes untested. Ever. Indeed, true love is left to prove itself. And that is exactly where fate steps in to play the game.

For William and Sarah, that game begins with growing up, in the unspoiled mountains of Colorado. In a time and space as clear as the Rocky Mountain skies above, these young souls together learn about life, what matters most, what endures, what doesn’t, and about love. Innocent young love moves ever so surely toward lives they both can picture, lives spent loving each other in a place they know so well and cherish.

Will and Sarah are ecstatically swept away in the swells of new love. And it is in their rarefied bliss that they make the fragile promise of first love, a promise that fate will soon rock and pound into doubt, guilt, and epiphany.

Unexpected and unprepared, these young lovers are suddenly torn apart, first by distance, and then by the far greater pressures of temptation that test the very fidelity of their heart-held promise. No longer able to console each other, hold each other, touch each other, they face the inevitable decision: move on to other loves, or cling to the faith that they will someday be together, again.
Will and Sarah stare down an unknown path, sensing destiny will not wait long before it comes to take them. Wracked with doubt, they wonder if their love was real. Caged by guilt, they both feel tempted by others intent on stealing their hearts.

Fate plays hardest when love is tested. And Will and Sarah are no exception, letting go of their happy past to embrace hope for an uncharted future. Love plays hardest when fate tests. And so it is, even through their trials of the heart, Will and Sarah never really stop loving each other. Theirs is a love so real and pure that each just wants the other to find happiness, even if it's with another.

But fate does not surrender so easily. Dealing blow upon blow, both Will and Sarah are each struck by jolting events that take them to the very edge of life, itself.

Sarah and Will hold tightly to their past, but steadfast promises begin to wane. Life continues, filled with romance, drama, and two souls yearning to understand the challenges brought with coming of age, and learning that fate is ultimately in control. What happens to love when life is on the line? Can they both relinquish control when love is on the line? Will fate even allow them to find out?

Templand/Permland Blog Tour

BLURB

The heroine, Melanie Evers, is a plucky young working-class woman from Akron, Ohio struggling to support herself in Chicago in the post-9-11 economy. TEMPLAND follows Melanie's journey through the temporary employment world from a college student on "just a summer job" to a 28-year-old woman with a lot of intelligence (and a heap of student loan debt to match) through multiple layoffs and a series of ever-more-wacky temp assignments, as she struggles not only to survive, but also to find romance and always remain true to the honest, working-class values instilled in her by her beloved grandfather.

In her long, solitary journey through Templand, Melanie encounters adventure and romance on her search for that always-elusive Permanent Job---which she finally gets, along with her man. TEMPLAND is a highly entertaining, wickedly funny social satire, contemporary romance, and mystery novel all rolled into one.

REVIEW
I had a harder time connecting to Melanie but I think that is because the book is set in 2001 and I at that was in Jr High. :) I did like that she is sassy and funny. I could relate to the job hunting portion of it which was quite comical :) it was a pretty easy read that I think people of that generation might appreciate more than I did but al l together a decent book that kept me entertained. ~ Leslie

BLURB

SEQUEL TO TEMPLAND. It’s the beginning of 2003, a few months after the end of TEMPLAND. Melanie Evers is back as she struggles under the insane demands of her long-sought Permanent Job.  Now a human resources executive at Marquette Bank, what started out as a cushy well-paid job turns into a nightmare when her company is bought out by a Dutch conglomerate.  Melanie gets sent on a new series of wacky adventures as she tries to keep her head above water while her crazy new boss Pietra controls her every move, the Iraq War begins, and her boyfriend Dave is called up by the Army reserves to fight overseas. Is permanent employment really all it’s cracked up to be?

REVIEW
Melanie returns and is just as funny. Now she has a permanent job and the antics and situations she gets in are even funnier. One in particular involves an illegal cockroach race :) a perfect sequel to temp land ~ Leslie
