Release Blitz: AIDEEN (A Slater Brothers Novella) by L. A. Casey

Title: Aideen
Series: Slater Brothers (#3.5)
Author: L.A. Casey
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, New Adult, Romantic Comedy

Aideen Collins is fed up. She is at her wits’ end with her eon long pregnancy, her new-found paranoia, but mostly she is fed up with her boyfriend’s constant hovering and nit-picking.
Kane Slater is happier than ever. He is about to become a father for the first time with the woman he loves. Little does he know that Aideen is both literally and figuratively a ticking time bomb. He just has to survive a few more weeks of murderous hormonal outbursts, and all will be well… or so he hopes.
They’re both caught up with the expected arrival of their little one, but in the back of their minds is a shadow that won’t fade away. Neither of them talk about it, but the shadow’s lingering presence casts doubt over their relationship.
Big Phil worked his way into their minds many weeks ago and rooted himself as the haunting figure. Without even trying, he ruins things and causes problems. He watches them from afar, hoping he can break their family.
Aideen’s instincts to protect her own are stronger than ever. If Big Phil wants to hurt those dearest to her, he is going to have one hell of a fight on his hands.
Aideen worships Kane, and what Aideen worships, Aideen shelters.

“Alec offered to have sex with me to help me go into labour.”
Keela snorted. “I’ll have sex with you if it’ll help you go into labour.”
“Me too, I’ll happily do it,” Bronagh chirped.
“You will happily do what?”
We looked to the doorway when Nico and Kane walked into the kitchen. Bronagh grinned knowingly at her boyfriend.
“Me self and Keela are offerin’ to have sex with Aideen to help her go into labour.”
I heard a high-pitched scream come from the hallway.
“Accept!”
I stared wide-eyed as Alec skidded into the kitchen, barrelling into his brothers like they were pins and he was a bowling ball.
“Accept the proposition, Aideen,” he pleaded as he tried to remain on his feet. “I’ve dreamt of shit like this for years!”
“I’m going to fucking kick your ass when I get up!” Nico growled from the floor.
Alec turned and kicked him in the stomach. “Shut up and let them think about this! This is important.”
I laughed at Alec and looked to the girls who were shaking their heads. I decided to play with him and his brothers simply because I could use the entertainment.
“Fine, go get the dildos.”
“Oh, my God.” Alec placed his hands on either side of his face. “This is the best day of my life.”
Keela bit down on her lower lip. “What do you want me to do to them?”
His eyes welled up. “It’s finally happening.”
Bronagh covered her mouth with her hand when she couldn’t control the giggle that erupted from her. Alec’s attention zoned in on her and her mouth.
“You … you’re playing … aren’t you?” he whispered, legit tears falling from his eyes.
Keela laughed then, too.
“That was cruel, Aideen,” Alec whispered and wiped his tear stained cheeks. “So fucking cruel. Don’t ever talk to me again. I don’t like any of you anymore.”

CLICHES

She can't stand them.

Hates them.

Refuses to be one.

But...

Tessa Brooks is strong-willed, sassy, and determined, on the brink of dominating in the testosterone-fueled sport of horse racing. She’s spent her life avoiding the norm, staying true to herself to achieve her ultimate goals.

Her relationship with Jace Hitchen, her brother's best friend, just might be the biggest cliche of all. Over the years, he’s been her protector, her annoyance, her confidante, her crush. But giving in to what she's really wanted for the last ten years could be the very thing that destroys everything she's worked for and wanted. Can Tessa achieve her dreams for the future, but still hold on to the past?

I started and finished reading this book in one sitting as it really caught my attention. I enjoyed the setting, this is the first book I've read set in the horse racing world. This makes a very unique book in my opinion. Tessa is a wonderfully strong female, determined to make it as a jockey. I love that it is the woman's career that causes problems, usually it is the man's, again a unique feature! Jace has loved Tessa since he first held her as a baby, alongside his best friend and Tessa's brother, he vowed to be her protector. He comforts her in times of sadness, and laughs with her and at her but can they became more than friends and occasional lovers? I really enjoyed the other characters, they added depth. Overall a really enjoyable read and with 4 stars is certainly worth one clicking!!

CM Foss is a hopeless romantic with a love for the written word. When she was little, her mom would ration her books so she wouldn’t go through them too quickly. It didn’t matter, she would just re-read. She’s always been an avid equestrian, competing in the top levels of Three Day Eventing by age seventeen. CM now resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and kids where they own and operate their own equestrian business, as well as raising grass-fed, sustainable meats. She doesn’t have this thing people call “free time”, but she does spend a weird amount of time writing, reading, playing with her kids, milking goats, and drinking wine, while avoiding bananas at all costs. Other books by CM Foss include Shiver, Swoon, and City Beautiful.

Blog Tour: TEMPTED IN TEXAS by Sara York

Title: Tempted in Texas
Author: Sara York
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 31, 2015
Rusty Briggs knows his chance of finding a man while living outside of Sweetwater, Texas are slim to none. Few know about his little secret, but his ranch hands have run out on him and the folks in town aren’t as hospitable as they were before the incident. He’s resigned himself to the fact that working his ranch will have to be enough or he will need to sell and move to the big city…that is until he meets Trent Anderson.

On the outside Trent appears to be a man with full access to silver spoons and caviar dreams, but his parents cut him off and tossed him out once they discovered he was gay. After living on the street, selling himself, then ending up in a destructive relationship, Trent pulled his life together and came out on top, all by using his compassion and intelligence—or so Trent thinks. Recently, Trent’s grandfather passed away and left him his ranch, as long as he meets a few conditions, like living in Texas for ninety days. But Trent’s secret benefactor, Reed, is dissatisfied that Trent isn’t living in Atlanta and wants him back. The only issue for Reed is that Trent is involved with Rusty.
Money, greed, lust, and power work to keep Rusty and Trent apart. They are forced to trust each other when life falls apart, but can they actually become close enough in ninety days to create a solid, trusting relationship, or will old relationships come between them?

Review

This book is a bit of a change of direction for me being a M/M book, but saying that I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I knew from the start that I was going to love Rusty, him being a hunky cowboy was my first love but then I loved him for being proud of who he is and that's not always easy as is shown through this book. I loved Trent too from him driving into town in a Porsche, this made me lol. Author Sara York is knew to me but I found her writing style captivating and happily award this book 4 stars!

Writing is Sara's life. The stories fight to get out, often leaving her working on four or five books at once. She can't help but write. Along with her writing addiction she has a coffee addiction. Some nights, the only reason she stops writing and goes to sleep is for the fresh brewed coffee in the morning.
Sara enjoys writing twisted tales of passion, anger, and love with a good healthy dose of lust thrown in for fun. Almost a quarter of a century ago Sara met her lover, falling for him after knowing him for ten minutes. Sara's passion for him comes out in her stories, mixing with her passion for life, love, and good times, flowing onto the page and becoming tales from the heart.
