What does it take to rise from life’s depths, swim against the current, and breathe?

Weighted down by the loss of her parents, Blythe McGuire struggles to keep her head above water as she trudges through her last year at Matthews College. Then a chance meeting sends Blythe crashing into something she doesn’t expect—an undeniable attraction to a dark-haired senior named Chris Shepherd, whose past may be even more complicated than her own. As their relationship deepens, Chris pulls Blythe out of the stupor she’s been in since the night a fire took half her family. She begins to heal, and even, haltingly, to love this guy who helps her find new paths to pleasure and self-discovery. But as Blythe moves into calmer waters, she realizes Chris is the one still strangled by his family’s traumatic history. As dark currents threaten to pull him under, Blythe may be the only person who can keep him from drowning.

Review

What is there to say about this book that you won't LOVE?!  I first read Jessica Park in Flat Out Love and was amazed by her wit and story telling, and how she combined the two to make a beautiful story about family, support, love and life!  You would think that with one of these, comes all the others, but so many authors tend to combine stories of love and family and sometimes leave out the support that is supposed to come with those two elements.  Not only does Jessica combine them all, but she manages to bring out some pretty special characters in the process and leaves you with strong emotional feelings to go along with it.  I LOVE Blythe and the way she's straightforward about herself and others.  I LOVE Sabin and his family and how they automatically included Blythe simply because she fits with them.  (We hope to hear more about Sabin, but that is yet to be determined.)  I LOVE this book! I am strangely infatuated with Jessica, (but that's between me and you.)  This book is a must read! It's got love, it's got sex, it's got alcohol and it's got college kids.  It's got some pretty steamy scenes that I dared to read while my husband was out of town.  Leave to say that I was pretty happy to see the guy when he got home.  And then, I read it AGAIN!
