5 stars. I love reading a book from a new author and especially when the book is amazing!! Beautiful Failure definitely had me speechless not only did it pull me in but it decided to keep me on a long stay... book hangover isnt even the word. Emerald didnt have the greatest childhood growing up and her life as an adult isnt any better. Emerald isnt the sweet bring her to meet your parents type of girl she is hard and doesnt take shit from anyone. When you first meet her all you can think is Bitch but as you get to know her you cant help but fall in love with all her imperfections. When emerald finally meets her match you get to meet Carter sexy sweet and loving Carter... Carter is detemined to help Emerald with anything she needs but Emerald is less enthusiatic to let him in. This book had some raw heartwrenhcing emotion but it shows not everyone has a papercut happy life some have to deal with life as it is given to them. I cant wait to get my hands on book 2. Fist pumpimg to you Mariah Cole for writing an amazing debut novel!! Watch out book lovers cause this author will steal your heart with Beautiful Failure a book you must read.
